- Builds community partnership, such as serving on Travel Medford’s Tourism Council; Oregon Wine Board’s Information Sharing Task Force (ISTF) and Tourism Task Force; Medford Airport Authority Marketing Committee, and Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development, Inc. (SOREDI) tourism group
- Grows existing and new revenue streams for long-term financial sustainability
2021 Programs and Initiatives
Taste of the Rogue – in collaboration with Travel Medford, RVV member wineries will have first choice to showcase Rogue Valley wines and local provisions at the new Rogue Valley International Medford Airport Welcome Center’s Taste of the Rogue events. These demo events will help create a memorable impression and regional experience for arriving passengers, as well as allow wineries the opportunity to touch visitors in an authentic and organic way.
Rogue Valley Wine Club –RVV is developing a regional wine club for member wineries who will benefit from economies of scale resulting in broader distribution networks, shipping discounts and enhanced marketing opportunities to draw new enthusiasts to their wineries and wine clubs.
Airport Gift Shop Wine Sales – RVV is partnering with Jackson County Airport Authority and the Tailwinds gift shop to offer Rogue Valley wines to arriving and departing travelers. This collaboration will include shared marketing and promotion of the wines and participating wineries.
Wine with Everything – RVV is partnering with event organizers across the region to make member wines available anywhere there is fun to be had – markets, sporting events, festivals, cultural activities and more.
Driving Traffic to Member Wineries – A combination of search engine marketing (SEM) and search engine optimization (SEO) will propel Rogue Valley wine country visibility as a high-ranking search result for wine tourism in Oregon. These efforts in turn will drive traffic to member wineries through key words and linkages.
RVV Events – RVV is developing virtual events to engage consumers far and near in interactive tastings that bring the Rogue Valley into their homes in fun, creative and inspiring ways. And, when we reach a time when gathering is again acceptable, RVV is working toward in-person events to showcase all that makes the Rogue Valley a wondrous and special place – especially for wine.
Tasting Room and Restaurant Server Training – RVV will develop an educational program to help winery and restaurant staff deliver exceptional guest service by better understanding the region’s wines and distinctiveness; and becoming better able to make recommendations that result in increased sales and club memberships.
